چکیده مقاله:

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of microwaves with the frequency of ۹۵۰ MHz on morphometric and apoptosis changes in rabbit’s testis. In this experimental study, ۱۸ male rabbits were randomly divided into two experimental and control groups. Unlike the control group rabbits, those of experimental groups received simulated microwaves with the frequency of ۹۵۰ MHz for ۲ weeks. After a week of rest, the seminiferous tubules diameters, the number of spermatogonial cells, Spermatocyst, Spermatids, sperm and the number of apoptotic cells were determined in the study groups. The results showed that the number of spermatogonial cells in ۶-watt group compared to the control group and also the number of these cells in ۶-watt group compared to ۳- Watt group was associated with a significant reduction. While ۳- watt Group had not a significant difference compared to the control group. The number of spermatocyst and spermatid cells in all three selected groups showed a significant difference. Results from counting the number of sperm cells indicated that only ۶ watt group had significant difference with the control group. But there was no significant difference between other groups. Results from the mean of apoptosis in spermatogenic cells showed that the percentage of apoptotic cells in ۳ watts and ۶ watts increased significantly compared to the control. The current study showed that microwaves with the frequency of ۹۵۰ MHz by changing the number of spermatogenic cells, can cause impairment in spermatogenesis process and increase apoptosis rate in the testes of rabbits.
