چکیده مقاله:

Introduction and objective: Mental health issues are estimated to effect of ۱۳% of children and adolescents. Physical activity (PA) has beneficial psychological effects and positive influences on social connectedness. DMT۵ is the psychotherapeutic use of movement to integrate an individual's emotional and social well-being. altogether, current Result proposed DMT as a holistic approach to promote psychological function and social skill among children. Due to inconsistency among studies, we aimed to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis Regarding the psychosocial benefits of DMT in adolescence.Search Method: systematic search in PubMed, Web of Sciences, Cochrane CENTRAL, EBSCO, and ERIC databases were done , using MeSH terms: “dance” AND “adolescent” and their related keywords. Inclusion criteria were the randomized control trials evaluated benefits of DMT on psychosocial health. Screening and extraction of citations performed with use of EndNote X۹.۰. Data were extracted and entered into meta-analysis as mean differences and related standard deviations. Random-model was used to pool quantitative data and reported as Cohen’s d and ۹۵% confidence interval (CI). To assess heterogeneity I۲ statistic (>= ۵۰%) and Cochrane Q-test (P < ۰.۰۵) were utilized. Robustness of overall effect-size was evaluated using leave-one-out (LOT) method. All statistical analyses were performed using STATA software ۱۴.۲ (Stat Corp, Texas, USA).Results: after removing duplicates and irrelevant citations (from a total of ۱۳۲۹ citations), ۱۱ studies were included. Results indicated that DMT improved psychological distress (SMD= ۰.۳۵; ۹۵% CI= ۰.۲۲, ۰.۴۸; I۲= ۵۲.۴%; N= ۸), QoL (SMD= ۰.۵۵; ۹۵% CI= ۰.۳۴, ۰.۷۷; I۲= ۱۲.۹%; N= ۴), Internalizing behaviors (SMD= -۰.۷۷; ۹۵% CI= -۱.۱۴, -۰.۴۰; I۲= ۰.۰%; N= ۳), social-competence (SMD= ۰.۵۶; ۹۵% CI: ۰.۲۱, ۰.۹۱; I۲= ۲۷.۳%; N= ۴), and externalizing behaviors (SMD= -۰.۴۸; ۹۵% CI= -۰.۷۹, -۰.۱۶; I۲= ۰.۰%, N=۳). The robustness of the overall effect sizes was confirmed by LOT۶ (P for all steps < ۰.۰۵). Low level of heterogeneity was found for all measures (I۲< ۳۰%; P> ۰.۲۵) except for psychological distress (I۲= ۵۲.۴%; P= ۰.۰۴).Conclusion: although DMT has beneficial effect on psychosocial outcomes, Further studies with larger sample size are needed.
