Introduction and objective: Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) periodic recurrence of a set of unpleasant symptoms it is physical, mental and emotional which occurs repeatedly during the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle. Since this the syndrome as an event causes a problem in the social adaptation and normal activity of the person; Therefore, this study aims to investigate the impact premenstrual syndrome was performed on marital relations.Method: The current study is a narrative review type, in order to achieve the study objectives, studies were searched in scientific databases including Cochrane, Scopus, Elsevier, Pubmed and also using a search engine. Google Scholar was searched with key words premenstrual syndrome, marital relations, marital conflicts. Thus persian and English articles that were published between ۲۰۱۰ and ۲۰۲۱ were collected, carefully studied, and their Results. It was categorized and reported.Results: A total of ۱۴ related articles were collected. Based on the Results of existing studies, emotional changes caused by PMS the rate of ۷۲% has a negative effect on marital relations, so that the reason for women's inability to meet the expectations of their husbands is an increase marital differences, decrease in sexual desire and compatibility in sexual relations, decrease in balance and proportion in the amount of sexual desire in women and for men, the increase in marital conflicts has a negative impact on the emotional dimension of the quality of life, sexual perversion and incompatibility with the spouse.Conclusion: Since PMS is the most common psychosomatic disorder in women and considering its negative effects on marital relations, it causes a tendency towards social deviations and decline of cultural values between husband and wife, therefore, in order to improve the quality of life it is recommended to increase the awareness of couples in the field of premenstrual syndrome through cognitive-behavioral group training.
