modified design criteria for braced frames with replaceable shear links

Eccentrically braced frames have good ductility if the link can Accommodate theinelasticrotations imposed by severe seismic loading this research aims to demonstrate analytically using the commercial software ansys the feasibility of using replaceable links as a significant improvement to current EBF designs with providing the required strength stiffness and ductility a parametric study was done to realize the effects ofweb and flange thickness of the links to povide the required level f ductility. analytical results indicate that the links exhibited a very good ductile behaviour developing stable and repeatable yielding.
