The Relationships between Iranian EFL Teachers’ Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK), Teaching Satisfaction, and Technostress

Recently, investigating language teachers’ Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) has attracted researchers’ interest within the arena of applied linguistics. Despite its importance in teachers’ professional growth, scant research attention has been given to its relationship with psychological variables such as technostress and teaching satisfaction. The participants (N = ۹۵) completed three electronic questionnaires. The results of a series of Pearson correlations indicated that a) EFL teachers technostress and TPACK were negatively correlated (r = -۰.۵۹), b) EFL teachers’ technostress and teaching satisfaction were negatively associated (r = -۰.۸۵), and c) EFL teachers’ TPACK and teaching satisfaction were positively linked to each other (r = ۰.۶۹). The results highlighted the importance of developing Iranian EFL teachers’ TPACK with the aim of increasing their professional accomplishment and reducing their stress caused by ever-changing nature of technology. Finally, the findings were discussed and implications were provided. The findings implied that teacher educators need to consider developing EFL teachers' PCK through training courses.
