Sir Gawain’s Traverse: A Psychoanalytic reading of Sir Gawainand the Green knight

The present essay deals with the psychoanalytic reading of Sir Gawain and the Green knight asa chivalric romance which was first appeared in the ۱۴th century. By focusing on Sir Gawain’srelation to Round Table and Green knight, the present study proposes a new critical view ofthis Arthurian romance based on the psychoanalysis of Jacques Lacan. The present article aimsat analysing SGGK in order to show how Lacan’s classification of the imaginary and thesymbolic stages of Sir Gawain and the Round Table are affected by the importance of GreenKnight’s entrance to Camelot
