چکیده مقاله:
Background and Aim:Health promotion seeks to move away from changing individual physical activity behavior to broaderinitiatives such as community development and challenging the political solutions in society.There are currently few published types of research in the health promotion literature describingprojects that seek to use digital technologies to develop healthy public policy changes related tophysical activity. However, some citizen science and citizen data programs related to physical activityare increasing, and the community ought to initiate a beginning to emerge that go beyond simplyasking citizens to be more active and involved with simple and practicable solutions. These involvecommunity groups working together to collect valid data sources to generate their digital solutions tocombat physical activity barriers and use the environmental approach in their local environs to use inpolitical activism for change and use social media platforms to make public their efforts.Since digital social inequalities are still experienced by many social groups so many people continueto struggle with access to digital, the capacity for public health and health promotion via digital mediacan be broader to encourage people to be more familiar with digital platforms, devices, andtechnologies and training them to be more and more active. As in the digital era, things develop andobjects start to exchange access to physical activity facilities, a new and different level of the digitalgeneration is occurring. ‘Digital and Active city’ is produced to be fully understood and appreciated.Methods: Studies were reviewed related to the topic of searching in databases such as PubMed,Scopus, Science Direct, ISI, Web of Science Search, Magiran, and SID, in both Persian and English,and related articles were evaluated.Results:In the context of the ‘Digital and Active city’ in which cities are becoming increasingly programmablewith computer software and monitored using sensor-based technologies, Digital stations, bikingstations, and digital coaches, even the concept of the ‘digital and healthy city’ is open to reintroducingvia the lens of digitization.Conclusion: These initiatives acknowledge that digital media should not simply be viewed as tools forcommunicating health messages by people but can also act as spaces that provide the opportunity forimprovement and resistance to physical activity.
