Prevalence of mortality in alcoholic motorcyclists

Background: The aim of this study was to estimate the prevalence of mortality in alcoholicmotorcyclists in the world.Methods: A systematic review was conducted in research database of PubMed / Medline, ISI Webof Knowledge, and Google Scholar until ۲۰۱۸. Point prevalence with ۹۵% confidence interval wasestimated. The variances of each study were calculated using the binomial distribution formula.Heterogeneity among the studies was tested by Q-Cochran test with a significant level less than۰.۱. Index of changes attributed to heterogeneity (I۲) was assessed. Regarding the heterogeneity ofthe studies, random effects of model was employed to combine the results of the studies. Allstatistical analyzes were performed by the software STATA version ۱۱. Using the Meta -Analysiscommands.Results: Of ۹۱۶ articles from ۲۰۱۱ to ۲۰۱۸, based on inclusion criteria ۱۲ studies examined andanalyzed. The prevalence of mortality in alcoholic motorcyclists was ۰.۲۸ (CI ۹۵% = ۰.۲۳-۰.۳۴).Subgroup analysis based on the type of countries showed the prevalence of mortality amongalcoholic motorcyclists in both countries, developed and developing countries, is the same (۲۹%).Also, the prevalence of mortality in alcoholic motorcyclists aged ۲۵-۳۵ years is more than that ofother age groups (۰.۳۴) (۰.۰-۴.۲۷).Conclusions: With the proper planning and adoption of health policies, increasing the prevalenceand complications of the disease will be prevented.
