Treatment solutions for smoking cessation in Iranian traditional medicine

Background: The use of technologies and treatment protocols in the process of quitting smokingis implemented using different techniques in the world. But what is the view of complementarymedicine as a medicine used by a large group of people regarding smoking cessation? Is there anoperational solution in Iranian traditional medicine to help quit smoking? In order to answer thesequestions, the following article has been compiled with the aim of collecting smoking cessationsolutions from the perspective of Iranian medicine.Method: The current research was conducted using the qualitative content analysis researchmethod. This research was done in three stages. In the first stage, qualitative content analysis wasused to examine the content of Iranian traditional medicine sources in response to the researchquestions. In the second step, the extracted materials were classified into categories related tosmoking cessation. And in the third stage, the extracted materials were prepared, compiled,modified and finalized in the form of smoking cessation treatment solutions.Results: In the classification of traditional practical medicine for patients who are trying to quitsmoking, there are three branches of practice according to the nature of the patients' bodies, whichinclude the use of food therapy, herbal therapy (drug therapy) and medicinal practices.Conclusion: Iranian traditional medicine, which is more than ۲۰۰۰ years old, is responsivemedicine based on the body's resourceful power, which can be used in patients who are addicted tocertain substances such as cigarettes, hookah, etc.
