weld defects assessment basis onworkmanship and fitness -for-purpose

as regards development in welding process and material and increasing welding in assemble and fabrication in industrial project quality and efficiency of weld is very important . As assessment of weld defect and acceptance criteria with purpose it has notable importance criteria for weld assessment are basis on: 1)workmanship ,2)fitness-for-service. workmanship has disadvantages that persuade everyone to use fitness-for-service FFS. ffs is a term to describe the actual safety or reliability of a structure at a given time the main factors affecting the fitness for purpose are the risk of failure and the modes of failure when the structure is in service . based on a critical survey of relevant literature and own experience a FFS methodology is presented focusing on fracture problems.
