Introduction: T۲DM is a serious global problem that is associated with many consequences, including the occurrence of musculoskeletal disorders. According to the evidence, yoga has a positive effect on diabetic patients and improves musculoskeletal disorders. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of ۳ months of cyclic yoga exercise on hyperkyphosis in women with type ۲ diabetes in Kermanshah city.Methods: ۴۲ middle-aged women were purposefully selected and were randomly assigned to a cyclic yoga exercise group (n=۲۱, ۵۴.۷۱±۵.۰۸۱ years) or a control group (n=۲۱, ۵۳.۳۸±۵.۳۲۴ years). The exercise group received cyclic yoga exercise for ۱۲ weeks, ۳ sessions per week, and ۵۰-۹۰ minutes per session. A flexible ruler (Made in Taiwan) was used to evaluate kyphosis. One-way ANOVA used for group comparison and dependent T-Test used for in-group comparison. Data were analyzed in SPSS v.۲۴ software.Result: Hyperkyphosis variable decreased in the cyclic yoga exercise group significantly (p ≤۰.۰۵). But, hyperkyphosis variable there was no significant change in the control group (p>۰.۰۵).Conclusion: Cyclic yoga exercises, as an accessible and therapeutic method lead to the improvement of hyperkyphosis in women with type ۲ diabetes.
