چکیده مقاله:

Background:Parkinson’s disease (PD) is an intractable condition impairing motor andcognitive function. it characterized by progressive loss of dopaminergic cells in the substantianigra and dopamine depletion in the striatum, which lead to dysfunction in corticostriatalnetworks that are essential for control of movement and cognition. PD is almost treated withlevodopa, a drug with side effects resulting in reduced sleep quality, anxiety, beingimmobilized and experiencing pain. This review study aims to assessment the effect of aerobicexercise on Parkinson's disease using fmri modality. In this review, the articles publishedduring the years ۲۰۱۸-۲۰۲۳ were reviewed from PubMed, Google Scholar and Science Directdatabases.Method:۱۳۰ patients with PD are subjected to aerobic exercise during a period of ۶ months.Martin E. Johansson included ۵۷ of the original ۱۳۰ participants randomized evaluating theeffect of aerobic exercise on symptom progression in PD. Each participant underwent afunctional magnetic resonance imaging scan (fmri)Result:aerobic exercise improved (oculomotor) cognitive control in PD.it reduced global brainatrophy and improved cognitive control, and increased functional connectivity between theright dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and the right frontoparietal network. aerobic exercisestimulates functional and structural neuroplasticity in both motor and cognitive brain networksin PD.Interpretation:Preprocessing and statistical analysis of fMRI data were done. MRI resultsconverge toward the conclusion that aerobic exercise stabilizes disease progression in thecorticostriatal sensorimotor network and enhances cognitive performance.the findings providebiological evidence that exercise should be used as an adjunct therapy for PD.
