چکیده مقاله:

Background and Objective: some evidence have shown that healthy dietary patterns such asDietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH), Mediterranean diet (MED) and healthyeating index ۲۰۱۵ (HEI-۲۰۱۵) can reduce the risk of NAFLD with controversy results. Thus, this study was aimed to evaluate any potential associations between adherence to the MEDdiet, DASH and HEI-۲۰۱۵ and the risk of NAFLD.Material and Methods: This case-control study was conducted by participation of ۱۲۲NAFLD patients and ۱۲۲ non-NAFLD subjects. NAFLD diagnosis was approved by agastroenterologist. A ۱۴۷-item food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) was used to collect dietarydata. Scores of MED diet, DASH diet and HEI-۲۰۱۵ were obtained. Multivariable logisticregression was used to calculate odds ratio (OR) and ۹۵% CIs.Results: The result showed that the highest pentile of adherence to the DASH diet issignificantly associated with the lowest risk of NAFLD (OR: ۰.۳۷, ۹۵% CI: ۰.۱۴-۰.۹۲, P trend= ۰.۰۳).This association remained significant after the adjustment of confounding variablesNAFLD (OR: ۰.۳۳, ۹۵% CI: ۰.۱۱-۰.۹۶, P trend = ۰.۰۴). No significant difference was observedbetween adherence to the MED and HEI-۲۰۱۵ diets and NAFLD risk. Conclusion: This study showed that the highest adherence to DASH dietary score is associatedwith the lowest risk of NAFLD. It seems more studies with a higher sample size on differentcommunities are needed to confirm the results of this study.
