Introduction: The covid-۱۹ disease has increased the concern about vulnerable groups ofsociety. Due to the reduction of the immune system, pregnant women are prone to this disease,so this study was conducted with the aim of investigating the maternal outcome of patients withcovid-۱۹ and their babies in the first ۲۴ hours of birth in ۲۰۲۰ at Ayatollah Kashani Hospitalin Jiroft.Methods and Materials: The design of the study is cross-sectional (descriptive and analytical).۸۱ pregnant women with covid ۱۹ were examined in ۲۰۲۰. The checklist prepared by theresearcher was completed by studying the medical records of the patients. The data collectiontool is adjusted according to the expected maternal and neonatal outcomes. Regarding thematernal outcome, it includes maternal mortality, the need to be transferred to the ICU, and theneed for early termination of pregnancy. Regarding the outcome of newborns, it includes deathafter birth, Apgar scores at ۰ and ۵ minutes at birth, and the need to be transferred to the NICU.The inclusion criteria for the study include: All pregnant women whose pregnancy and theexistence of a live fetus have been confirmed by ultrasound, and their infection with Covid-۱۹has been confirmed through PCR testing. and have more than ۳۴ weeks of pregnancy. Aftercollecting information, the data were analyzed using SPSS version ۲۵ statistical software.Results: The prevalence of death in mothers with covid-۱۹ was ۳.۷%, in the present study therewas no higher rate of cesarean delivery in these people, and ۱۴.۸% of pregnant women withcovid-۱۹ had a premature delivery. The Apgar score of the examined infants at minute ۰ washigher than ۷, and no infant death was found. ۱۸.۵% of women with covid-۱۹ were transferredto ICU, also ۲۹.۶% had lung involvement.Conclusion: The results of this research showed that maternal complications, especiallymaternal death, in the study group were more than expected, even with the statistics of noninfectedpregnant people. The results of the studied newborn symptoms did not increase muchand the death of the newborn was not found in this study.
