Background: Pregnancy is a period with physiological and psychological changes inwomen and due to these changes, this course requires special cares, according to studies, yoga canbe one of the approaches to improve these cares. The study was designed to investigate the Effectsof yoga intervention during pregnancy. Methods: The present study was a brief review studydesigned in ۲۰۲۲. The search was conducted in international and national databases, includingScientific Information Database (SID), PubMed and Scopus, using the following keywords:“yoga” and “pregnancy”. Summaries of articles published in congresses and conferences wereexcluded from the study. Initially, ۱۵ articles in English or Persian were finally evaluated. Results:The review of various studies showed that yoga has a positive effect on the mental health of themother in addition to the physical health of the mother and fetus. It has been found that doing basicyoga exercises can reduce stress and pain during pregnancy and childbirth. Also, according tosome studies, it can be said that yoga has an effect on the growth of the fetus and its weight at thetime of birth, however, it is not possible to comment definitively about the safety of yoga.Conclusion: Yoga has positive and beneficial consequences for the mother and fetus duringpregnancy and even after delivery. Implementing policies to hold yoga training courses andencouraging pregnant mothers to practice yoga during pregnancy can lead to reducing the risk andcomplications during pregnancy.
