Use of HKUST-۱ Adsorbent in Wastewater Treatment to Removal Heavy Metals

Recent developments in the realm of chemistry include porous hybrid polymer-metal composites andmetal organic frameworks (MOFs). MOFs are nanostructured materials made of metal ions connectedby organic ligands as bridging agents. Because of their superior porosity, high loading capacity, andsimplicity of surface modification, MOFs are practically feasible. According to equilibrium adsorption,kinetics, and adsorbent regeneration, we describe in this work the use of HKUST-۱ as a adsorbent forthe quick Heavy Metals removal ions from aqueous solution. By using FT-IR, XRD, SEM, and N۲adsorption/desorption measurements, the adsorbent was identified. The adsorption data matches theFreundlich adsorption model.
