چکیده مقاله:

Lithium-ion batteries have been widely used for various purposes such as electric gadgets and applicationslike those in electric vehicle industries. Centralized battery package systems in conventional electric cars are giganticand heavy which can add more weight to electric cars in addition to heavy steel-based car bodies. Light-weight hybridcomposite panels are designed to mitigate this issue. Thanks to this technology, centralized battery packages have beeneliminated and combined with car bodies. To investigate the mechanical behavior of these multifunctional structuralbattery panels, they have been exposed to a three-point bending mechanical simulation test. The simulations have beenconducted in COMSOL Multiphysics finite elements software, which provides a capability of coupled-physics modelingincluding electrical and mechanical models. The results illustrate that these structural batteries can be utilized in futurevehicle body panels.
