چکیده مقاله:

This paper presents a new fault-location algorithmfor untransposed parallel transmission lines. The proposedmethod uses data only from the local end of the transmissionline. The shunt capacitances of the line are considered in orderto increase the accuracy. The fault distance is calculated bysolving a fifth-order equation using the Newton-Raphsonmethod. Extensive simulation studies using DIgSILENT andMATLAB have shown that the proposed algorithm achievesquite accurate results.
