Image Steganography: Comprehensive Review and Analysis ofCurrent Techniques, Challenges, Evaluations, and Future ResearchDirections

Attackers' capacities to obtain both public and private information carried via networks are rapidly expanding. This opens the door to emphasizing a tool that ensures secure transmission of confidential information. Steganography is a technique used in information security to conceal confidential information in an untrustworthy carrier via a digital medium. Using image steganography, any kind of secret information can be concealed in cover image files. This study reviews and analyses comprehensively the recent techniques in image steganography. Moreover, issues and challenges facing proposing image steganography are also highlighted. Furthermore, evaluation metrics and future directions are covered in this study.
