Microgrid power management and control fundamentals: a technical review

Microgrid has been widely used as an approach to integrate distributed energy sources with energy storage systems in the electrical grid. It was developed to be a basic building block for a smart grid system. In this paper, a brief discussion of the basics of Microgrid is presented, the control methods, power management plans and operational challenges of the Microgrid are discussed
