چکیده مقاله:

In this study, contaminated natural soil, containing heavy hydrocarbons was collected from an Industrial site(an oil field), and was subjected to an electrokinetic method in order to measure the mobility of hydrocarbons in the mixture. A uniform sludge was formed when distilled water was used as solvent and the uniform sample subjected to an electrical field in a cell. During each experiment, hydrocarbon concentration together with power consumption were measured. The results of these experiments showed that although the electro-osmosis process was active, the ionic migration of hydrocarbons was almost negligible. The experiments were conducted at various temperatures and about 60-70 hours duration each. No attempt was made to use a chemical solvent in order to enhance the process of migration in the solution.
