Use of Nitrogen Injection in EOR Techniques

The term enhanced oil recovery (EOR) basically refers to the recovery of oil by any method beyond the primary stage of oil production. It is defined as the production of crude oil from reservoirs throughprocesses taken to increase the primary reservoir drive. In this paper we present the methodology of enhance oil recovery techniques at first, then we continue in nitrogen injection in specific case of reservoir. In miscible gas injection, the gas is injected at or above the minimum miscibility pressure (MMP) which causes the gas to be miscible in oil. In deep, high-pressure reservoirs, compressed nitrogen has been used instead of CO2. Hydrocarbon gases have also been used for miscible oil displacement in some large reservoirs. This can be a reason to use N2 for heavy oil recovery
