چکیده مقاله:
Background and aim: A novel coronavirus pneumonia ۲۰۱۹ (SARS-CoV-۲) appeared in Wuhan, Hubei Province in December ۲۰۱۹. The virus, known as COVID-۱۹, is called a life-threatening disease by causing severe respiratory illness. We report a case of neonatal COVID-۱۹ infection in Iran with pharyngeal swabs tested positive by rRT-PCR assay ۳۶ hours after delivery.Patient Report: In this case study, we report the death of a neonate born to a ۲۶-year-old mother without coronavirus disease ۲۰۲۰ in Torbat jam, Iran. we report a case of a COVID‐۱۹ infection in newborn, in which the first clinical symptoms were of respiratory distress, Acrocyanosis, and icterus, which further progressed to respiratory symptoms and eventually cause death. The neonate was born by vaginally with an appendix. Physical examination of the baby revealed that he was apparently healthy and the baby indicated that S۱ and S۲ heart sounds were heard and no heart murmur was heard using stethoscope. The results of X-ray taken ۳.۵ hours after birth indicated bilateral opacity and no signs of plural effusion and emphysema were observed. All of the above facts and radiographic abnormalities indicate that ۲۰۱۹ coronavirus is involved. Conclusion: In this case study, we report the death of a neonate born to a mother without coronavirus disease ۲۰۱۹, ۷ days after birth. Unlike previous studies in the case reported in our study, none of the parents reported any symptoms of the disease, and due to the non-specific symptoms of the infant, the diagnosis was impaired. However, information on vertical transmission in COVID-۱۹ disease is limited and has yet to be confirmed.
