Relationship between satisfaction, burnout of occupational therapists and physiotherapists working in the corona virus ward of medical centers in Tehran

Background and aim: One of the factors that can affect the mental and occupational health of health workers is emerging diseases. The coronavirus pandemic is affecting the entire world today and causes constant stress on therapists, followed by psychological factors such as burnout. Affects job and job satisfaction in this group. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between job satisfaction and burnout between occupational therapists and physiotherapists working in the coronavirus department.Materials and method: A descriptive correlational study was performed on ۴۲ occupational therapists and physiotherapists working in the coronavirus ward. Each questionnaire was uploaded virtually and finally the data were analyzed using SPSS software version ۲۱.Results: In this study, ۲۶ occupational therapists (۶۱.۹%) and ۱۶ physiotherapists (۳۸.۱%) participated. The mean age of the subjects was ۳۰.۵۲ ۶ ۶.۵ and they averaged ۰.۰۵ ۹ ۴.۹ daily. ۷ patients visited Corona. In gender segregation, the mean of total burnout score in women was slightly higher than men, and in workplace segregation, the mean of total burnout score in physiotherapists (۶۸.۴۳) was higher than occupational therapists (۶۱ / ۵۴) In general, there was a significant negative correlation (-۰.۳۸) between the data of the Maslash burnout questionnaire and Minnesota job satisfaction, which indicates a significant inverse relationship between these two variables.Conclusion: This study showed that many occupational therapists and physiotherapists who are in direct contact with Covid ۱۹ disease are at risk of burnout and reduced job satisfaction. This study also showed an inverse relationship between the variables of burnout and job satisfaction. Therefore, in order to prevent burnout and increase job satisfaction, the maximum support needed for welfare should be provided.
