چکیده مقاله:

Objective: Probiotics are nonpathogen lactic acid bacteria, which are important in the treatment of diges tive disorders andcancers. Probiotics’ importance in cancer therapy is related totheir effect on the apoptosis pathway and many s tudies haveshown their anti-tumor effects in vitro and in vivo. Accordingto the world health organization, cancer is the second cause ofdeath in the world and pancreas cancer is the ۱۲th mos t commoncancer. probiotics and their extractions, exopolysaccharides, and peptidoglycans have inhibitory effects on pancreas cancer. Therefore, the s tudy of probiotics’ effects on cancer and findingunique treatments has received much attention. In this s tudy, thepotential effect of lactobacillus casei on PANC-۱ cell viabilityin comparison to Fibroblas t cells has been inves tigated.Materials and Methods: PANC-۱ and Fibroblas t cells weretreated with Different concentrations of Lactobacillus casei supernatants(۵, ۱۰, ۲۰, and ۴۰ %) for ۲۴ hours and cell viabilitywith MTS assay has been tes ted. Results: Our findings showed that Lactobacillus casei supernatanthas significantly decreased PANC-۱ cells viability and hadno significant effects on fibroblas t cells. PANC-۱ cells viabilityfor ۵, ۱۰, ۲۰ and ۴۰ percent of supernatant concentration was۹۳, ۸۲.۳۳, ۶۱.۳۳ and ۴۵.۳۳%, respectively. Conclusion: According to the literature review, Lactobacilluscasei as a probiotic has anti-cancer effects. Our findings showedthat cell viability was significantly decreased in ۱۰, ۲۰, and۴۰% of Lactobacillus Casei supernatant and it seems that thecell death effect of its supernatant is dose-dependent.
