چکیده مقاله:

Background: Recently, more attention has been raised towardfertility preservation in women with cancer. One option is invitro maturation (IVM) of the immature oocytes since there isnot enough time for induction of ovarian s timulation protocol. The aim was to compare the IVM laboratory outcomes betweens timulated and uns timulated (natural) IVF cycles.Materials and Methods: ۲۳۴ immature oocytes collected from۱۵ cancer patients who underwent an IVM program (naturalIVM) and ۲۳ IVF cycles with controlled ovarian hypers timulationprotocol (s timulated IVM) were analyzed. The oocyte morphology, zona pellucida (ZP), and meiotic spindle (MS) Presencewere measured using PolScope technology. Also, the rates ofoocyte maturation and fertilization were assessed in both groups. Results: The IVM rate was higher in the s timulated cycle(P<۰.۰۵), but the fertilization rate was insignificant in comparisonto uns timulated cycles. There were no significant differencesin the spindle visualization and ZP birefringence scoring between the groups (P˃۰.۰۵). The oocytes normal morphologywas better in the s timulated cycle compared to the natural cycle(P<۰.۰۵).Conclusion: IVM can be recommended for cancer patients asan alternative treatment when there is insufficient time for conventionalIVF before chemotherapy initiation
