چکیده مقاله:

Background: Negative effects of diabetes have been shownon the male reproductive sys tem, broadly. Tes tis plays a vitalrole in male reproductive sys tem. One of the possible disordersof maternal diabetes is the effect on male reproductive sys tem.The use of medicinal herbs is recommended in reducing complicationsof during pregnancy. The Aloe Vera extract causesa significant decrease in blood glucose levels. This s tudy wascarried out to inves tigate the effects of the Aloe Vera extract(AVE) on tes tis his tomorphometry in rat embryo from diabeticmothers.Materials and Methods: Forty adult female rats were dividedinto four groups: control group (without treatment), diabeticgroup (۵۰ mg/kg of s treptozotocin /IP), AVE group (۴۰۰ mg/kg/orally) and diabetic+AVE group (۴۰۰ mg/kg/orally). Allfour groups were being pregnant via natural mating. After inges tational days ۱۸th and ۲۰th, mother rats were anes thetized, and embryos have been transferred into ۱۰% buffered formalin. After applying his tological techniques, different his tologicalparameters have been evaluated. Results: The results of tes tis tissue showed that numbers ofspermatogonia, Sertoli and Leydig cells and diameter of seminiferoustubules were significantly decreased in ۱۸- and ۲۰-dayembryos of diabetic group with comparison to control group(P<۰.۰۵). On the contrary, Aloe Vera extract resulted in a significantincrease in number of spermatogonia, Sertoli and Leydigcells and seminiferous tubule diameter compared with diabeticgroup in ۱۸ and ۲۰ day embryos (P<۰.۰۵).Conclusion: This s tudy showed that Aloe vera extract couldhave positive and protective effects on tes tis tissue if used as ahypoglycemic agent in diabetes.
