The Savonius vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) issuitable for urban areas and installing on buildings for powergeneration due to the independency of flow direction and selfstartingfeatures. In this study, the diameter, height and twistangle of Savonius VAWT are evaluated as three main designparameters. By CFD result, certain size ranges for three designparameters are assumed and wind rotors modeled with the definedalgorithm. In these ranges, the diameter ranges between ۰.۱ to ۰.۳m and height ranges between ۰.۲ to ۰.۴ m and twist angle rangesbetween ۰ to ۹۰ degrees. The results indicate that the highestpower coefficient is obtained with ۳۵ degrees and the highestdischarge flow coefficient is obtained with ۶۰ degrees for all windrotors. Finally, by using the analytic hierarchy process decisionmakingtechnique, an appropriate wind rotor is specified.According to this technique, the wind rotor diameter, height andtwist angle are ۰.۳ m, ۰.۳ m and ۳۵ degrees respectively shows thebest aerodynamic performance. Also, the results indicate that thepower coefficient and discharge flow rate increased about ۱۸ and۳۱% respectively compared to simple Savonius wind turbine.
