چکیده مقاله:
Today, renewable energy sources including windenergy are used as viable alternative for fossil fuels. One of themost efficient turbines is Archimedes Spiral Wind Turbines(ASWT) as small Horizontal Axis Wind Turbines (HAWT). Ithas a high efficiency that improves by replacing metal bladeswith composites and precise design based on the interaction ofstructure and fluid. In the present study, a ۰.۵ kW helical turbinewill be designed and analyzed. Due to the new structure, this typeof turbine has an efficiency of over ۶۰%, which can be upgradedby replacing the metal blade with a composite and precise designbased on the interaction of structure and fluid. In this context, the possibility of replacing metal blades with composite coatingwas investigated. Indeed, the structural stability ofCarbon/Epoxy and Glass/Epoxy composite coating wereconsidered for ASWT blades in a predetermined set of workingaerodynamic conditions. In this context, the Fluid solidinteraction (FSI) has been investigated considering ANSYS andMATLAB@ software. The results demonstrate an improvementin the structural performance of the coated composite blades incomparison with the conventional metal blades. Moreover, it isascertained that utilizing composite blade can enhance theaerodynamic efficiency as well as structural strength.
