چکیده مقاله:
Natural convection heat transfer from isothermal concave body shapes is studied numerically in the present research. The immersed bodies are called apple cores and they are created by removing some part of a sphere of diameter D, so that the remaining part is a cylinder. Heat and fluid flow are investigated for different apple cores in a wide range of Rayleigh number. Numerical simulations show that the convex surfaces do not contribute well to the natural convection heat transfer. As the total surface heat transfer alsochange by altering the geometry, the average total Nusselt number are also compared for different concave body shapes.
