چکیده مقاله:

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between the moral behavior and happiness by the mediating role of basic psychological needs of high school students. The research method was descriptive-correlational and the statistical population included all male and female high school students in Hamedan high school in the academic year ۱۴۰۰-۱۴۰۱. To conduct the study, ۲۸۵ students (۱۸۸ boys and ۹۷ girls) were selected using multi-stage cluster sampling. Data collection instruments were the Moral Behavior Questionnaire, the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire, and Basic Psychological Needs. In order to analyze the data, path analysis with LISREL software was used. Findings indicate that the proposed model fits well with experimental data (GFI = ۰.۹۴, NFI = ۰.۹۷, CFI = ۰.۹۶). The results of path analysis showed that the effect of moral behavior on the level of happiness and basic psychological needs (Autonomy, Competence, and Communication) is positive and significant. The results of Sobel test showed that the variables of Autonomy (p <۰.۰۱, Z = ۴.۸۵), Communication (p <۰.۰۱, Z = ۵.۲۱), and Competency (p <۰.۰۱, Z = ۴.۱۷), have a significant mediating role in the relationship between moral behavior and happiness (p <۰.۰۱, Z = ۴.۸۴). The findings reveal that by creating culture and teaching moral behaviors among students and at the same time paying attention to their basic psychological needs, the level of happiness in school can be increased.
