چکیده مقاله:
Background and Aim : Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) has various strains that are associated withhuman infections. H. pylori, H. heilmannii and H. feils are the most common strains in humans.H. pylori is associated with several human diseases such as chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer, mucousmembrane lymphoma, and gastric adenocarcinoma. Therefore, this study aimed to determine theprevalence of H. felis and H. heilmannii and the effect of co-infection with H. pylori in gastricbiopsy specimens of patientsMethods : Totally, ۸۰ gastric biopsy specimens were taken by a physician from the patientsreferred to Shahid Beheshti Hospital, Hamadan province, Iran. PCR test was used to confirm thepresence of H. pylori in samples that had positive rapid urease tests. Moreover, ureB gene andureA & B gene were used for H. heilmannii and H. feils, respectively. Results : Of the patients, ۶۱.۵% were females and ۳۸.۵% were males with a mean age of ۳۷.۸years. Of the ۸۰ biopsies, ۵۰% were H. pylori-positive, ۵۳.۸% were H. heilmannii-positive and H.felis was identified in none of the sample. Results implied that smoking, having a history ofgastrointestinal diseases and taking certain medications can be risk factors for H. pylori. Conclusion : any agent contributing to gastric mucosal damage can enhance the susceptibility tobacterial contamination. Overall, the results indicated a low probability of interactions between H.pylori, H. heilmannii and H. felis.
