چکیده مقاله:

Background and Aim : Helicobacter pylori is a gram-negative, spiral-shaped, urease-positivemicroorganism. Today, it is known that urease positive bacteria other than Helicobacter pylori canexist in the oral cavity, stomach, intestine, urinary tract and skin. The purpose of this study is toinvestigate the pattern of antibiotic resistance and the prevalence of gram-positive and ureasenegativebacteria other than Helicobacter pylori present in the stomach of patients with gastritis. Methods : ۱۶۵ biopsy samples from the stomach antrum of patients with gastric ulcers referred toSari hospitals were collected by a gastroenterologist. The samples were transferred to themicrobiology laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine after the Rapid Urease Test (RUT) and itspositive result in the transfer culture medium. The samples were cultured on Brain Heart Infusion(BHI agar), blood agar MacConkey agar. Non-Helicobacter pylori bacteria present in the stomachwere identified by standard bacteriological methods such as cultivation in specific environments, gram staining and performing various tests. Results : : ۱۰۰ samples were positive using the urease test kit, ۷۷ samples were infected withHelicobacter pylori and ۲۳ samples were infected with non-Helicobacter pylori bacteria. Thehighest frequency belonged to Staphylococcus epidermis strain. There is a significant relationshipbetween gastritis severity and pathology test (p=۰.۰۰۲), food reflux (p value=۰.۰۰۲), anorexia (pvalue=۰.۰۱۲), nausea (p<۰.۰۵) and burning (p<۰.۰۵). Also, there was no significant relationshipbetween the non-Helicobacter test and the severity of gastritis (p>۰.۰۵). No significant relationshipwas observed between other studied variables and severity of gastritis (p>۰.۰۵).Conclusion : In the present study, no significant relationship was observed between the antibioticresistance pattern and the type of non-H. pylori strains detected. According to the present results, the simultaneous use of different antibiotics can be beneficial and rational in preventing thedevelopment of bacterial resistance. It was also proved that the presence of non-Helicobacterpylori bacteria alone cannot play a significant role in the severity of gastritis.
