چکیده مقاله:

Background and Aim : Gastric cancer is one of the most common causes of cancer deathsworldwide. Every year. Gastric cancer is the first most common cancer in men and the third mostcommon cancer in women. New studies suggest the role of the HPV virus in the risk of co-infectionwith H. pylori infection. In this study, we determined the severity of H. pylori and HPV infectionsimultaneously and the relationship between these infections and tumor size and grade, lymphnode involvement and the depth of tumor penetration in patients with gastric and their effect onpathological symptoms. Methods : Samples were taken from healthy cell and gastric tumor from patients referred to thehospital and transferred to the laboratory. DNA extraction was performed using a biogenic kit. After confirming the concentration and quality of DNA, the severity of viral-bacterial infectionsand Helicobacter pylori were assessed by real-time PCR. The mean age of patients and controlswas ۶۱.۱±۹.۲ and ۵۸/۲±۷.۶ respectively, there was no statistically significant difference (studenttest).. ۸ patients were female and ۲۴ patients were male. Results : ۸ patients (۶۱.۵%) under ۶۰ years of age were positive for H. pylori infection and ۵patients (۳۸%) were negative for H. pylori infection. Also, ۱۸ patients (۹۴.۷%) were positive forH. pylori infection for more than ۶۰ years and ۱ patient (۵.۳%) was negative for H. pylori infection.Other findings did not show significant results in the number of lymph nodes involved (N), tumorstaging and grading in HPV infection in patients with concomitant H. pylori infection. Conclusion : It is suggested that more biological and molecular research be conducted in this areato determine the role of human papillomavirus in the development of various malignancies, including gastric cancer.
