چکیده مقاله:
Background and Aim : The spread of multiple-drug resistance in pathogenic bacteria is anincreasing serious problem for medicine and the pharmaceutical industry. The aim of this studywas to evaluate antibacterial effects of green synthesized Cadmium Sulfide Quantum dots (CdSQDs) against some gram negative and gram positive bacteria. Methods : In this study was conducted during ۶ mounts period from July ۲۰۲۱ to January ۲۰۲۲,the green synthesis of Cadmium Sulfide quantum dots using Nerium oleanderleaves extract usingthree different methods: ultrasonic (۱۵ minutes at ۳۷°C), microwave (۱۵ minutes under ۳۰۰Wradiation), and flotation (soaking in water ۳ days in Balloon packed via paraffin), was done and asCadmium sulfide source, the dehydrated Cadmium acetate and Sulfide sodium was added, and thesupernatant was filtered through filter paper. After that the antibacterial effect of these differentsynthetic QDs was evaluated on E.coli ATCC ۲۵۹۲۲, Salmonella enterica ATCC ۱۴۰۲۸, S.aureusATCC ۲۵۹۲۳, and Bacillus cereus using disc diffusion method on Muller Hinton agar, andcompared with ceftazidime (۳۰μg), chloramphenicol (۳۰μg), penicillin (۱۰μg), and imipenem(۱۰μg).Results : In the evaluation of antibacterial effects of Cadmium sulfide quantum dots preparedusing ultrasonic, microwave and flotation methods, it was determined that, antibacterial effects ofquantum dots were stronger than ceftazidime, chloramphenicol and penicillin, while each onenever doesn’t have effects of imipenem. Conclusion : Our finding showed that, aqueous and methanolic extracts of cadmium sulfidequantum dots have had antibacterial effects and the rate of inhibition growth zone in bacteria haddirect relation to concentration of aqueous and methanolic extract of QDs, and gram positivebacteria were more sensitive to QDs than gram negative bacteria.
