چکیده مقاله:

Background and Aim : Klebsiella pneumoniae is one of the important clinical pathogens andresponsible for some nosocomial infections; especially pneumonia, septicemia, and urinary tractinfection (UTI). Multiple drug resistance among Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates is one of the mostimportant challenges for treating of such infections worldwide. The aim of this study was todetermine the antibiotic resistance of Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates collected from Miandoabhospitals. Methods : In this cross-sectional descriptive study, more than ۲۵۰ gram-negative bacterial isolatesobtained from urinary tract infections in Miandoab hospitals were studied. The selective culturemedia and biochemical test were used for the identification of Klebsiella pneumonia isolates.Antibacterial susceptibility of isolates was measured to Commonly used antibiotics in thetreatment of UTI caused by gram-negative bacteria using disk diffusion (Kirby – Bauer) method. Results : Out of ۲۵۰ samples collected from different specimens, ۹۶ isolates of Klebsiellapneumoniae were identified by biochemical tests. The highest antibiotic resistance of Klebsiellapneumoniae isolates to ampicillin with ۱۰۰% and the lowest resistance with ۱۳% to ciprofloxacinwas observed. ۳۶% of the isolates showed resistance to Extended-Spectrum β-Lactamasephenotypically.Conclusion : High resistance to most of the studied antibiotics, in the studied isolates should beconsider as a vital factor and must rigorously take into account in all hospital ward. Antibiogramand selection of appropriate antibiotic is recommended before starting treatment
