چکیده مقاله:
Background and Aim : The incidence of opportunistic yeasts that cause life-threatingbloodstream infections especially Candidiasis in humans has been increasing over recent years. These infections are difficult to treat and diagnose, in part due to the broad diversity of species thatcan cause the infection. In addition, resistance to one or several antifungal drugs is increasinglybeing reported that causes limiting therapeutic options. The aims of this study was to identifyyeasts causing urogenital and bloodstream infections and determination of their drugsusceptibility. Methods : Identification of different yeasts were done by chromogenic yeast medium agar. Todetermine the drug susceptibility of pathogenic yeasts, minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC)method using ۹۶-wells ELISA plates was performed. The antifungal drugs used in this study werefluconazole, voriconazole and caspofangin. Results : Total of ۳۰ Candida species were iolated from urine, blood and vaginal from specimensfrom different Isfahan hospitals were identified as ۱۲Candida albicans, ۱۲Candida krusei ,۴Candida tropicalis, ۱Candida glabrata, and ۱Candida fabianii. The results showed that ۵۰%, ۹۰%and ۹۳.۳% of the strains were sensitive to fluconazole, voriconazole and caspofangin respectively. Conclusion : our results showed that prodominant yeast strains were Candida albicans andCandida krusei and the caspofangin had the best antifungal effect against different Candidaspecies.
