چکیده مقاله:

Background and Aim : Candidiasis is the most common fungal infection, primarily due to theincreasing numbers of immune and medically compromised patients. Apoptosis is a commonmethod of programmed cell death, characterized by depolymerization of the cytoskeleton, cellshrinkage, chromatin condensation, nuclear fragmentation, and phosphatidylserine transport to thecell surface. The purpose of present study was to measure the apoptosis effect of Amphotericin B(AmB) on different Candida spp.Methods : The apoptotic effects of MIC concentration of Amphotericin B for each Candidaspecies were detected by the flow cytometric method.Results : The flow cytometry results showed that the highest apoptotic effect of AmB wasobserved on C. kruzei and, the minimum apoptosis effect of AmB was seen on C. lusitaniae.Conclusion : Our results showed that Amphotericin B (AmB) has an apoptosis effect on differentCandida spp. The apoptosis effect induced by AmB varied in different Candida spp.
