چکیده مقاله:

Background and Aim : Increasing the antibiotic resistance of bacteria against antibiotics hasincreased the use of herbs with low side effects alongside conventional drugs. The aim of thisstudy was to investigate the antibacterial effect of ginger extract on Salmonella isolated from healthcare providersMethods : In this study, ۵۰ human Salmonella isolates were isolated from the health centers ofEast Azerbaijan province. First, using enriching, selective, differential, biochemical media basedon specific bacteriological tables and also using commercial antisera. Regarding Salmonella O andH antigens, we determined that our bacterium belonged to the genus Salmonella. Salmonella wasevaluated for ginger extract as well as for common antibiotics used in medical laboratories. Results : The results of the study showed that out of ۷۰ suspected Salmonella samples, ۵۰ wereSalmonella isolates, of which ۳۵ (۷۰%) were sensitive to ginger extract, ۱۰ (۲۰%) wereintermediate and ۵ (۱۰%) are resistant. While the results of antibiogram to common medicalantibiotics are the most sensitive to sperfloxacin ۳۲ cases (۶۴%) stiffness zoxime ۳۱ cases (۶۲%),naldexic acid and ampicillin with ۳۰ cases (۶۰%), Ceftriaxone is ۱۵ cases (۳۰%), cephalexin is ۱۰cases (۲۰%) and cefazolin is ۵ cases (۱۰%).Conclusion : Due to the increasing resistance of bacteria to antibacterial drugs, in the present studyit was shown that ginger extract has more antibacterial properties compared to antibiotics used inmedicine, than salmonella isolaties and from this extract can be used along with other antibioticsin medical centers.
