چکیده مقاله:

Background and Aim : Prevention of human rabies in IranMethods : Implementation of bite and rabies prevention programs in humans based on the currenthealth system, community culture, and people at risk especially children and other people at riskis very important. These activities conducting by using the latest national guideline, that preparedbase on reference books and the World Health Organization, and papers and otherrecommendations of international organizations.Results : ۱۰۰% of human rabies cases are fatal, it is necessary to pay special attention to educatingthe community in order to prevent animal bites and also to refer to rabies prevention center afterbites. The national guideline for prevention and control of human rabies has been prepared by theNational Committee. Principles of fallowing animal bit are: ۱- Treatment of the wound ۲-Complete debridement of crushed and necrotic parts ۳- Disinfection of the wound with betadinesolution or ۴۰ to ۷۰% ethyl alcohol ۴- No suturing of the wound site ۵- if indication injection ofrabies immunoglobulin and vaccine and completion of vaccination period ۶- Injection of antitetanusimmunoglobulin and vaccine ۷- Antibiotic treatment ۸- Care of the invading animal ۹-Sampling of the suspected invasive animals Even after severe injury, post-exposure prevention forrabies is ۱۰۰% effective. For each wound immediately wash with soap and high-pressure waterfor at least ۱۵ to ۲۰ minutes and Use disinfectants such as povidone-iodine or other compoundsthat can kill the virus.Conclusion : According to the implementation of the national guidelines for human rabiesprevention, register more than ۲۶۰,۰۰۰ human bitted cases in ۲۰۲۱. Due to the lack of animal bittedto refer to rabies prevention center ۱۶ human cases of rabies were registered in ۲۰۲۱. It is hopedthat by raising community awareness and improving coordination between the veterinaryorganization and ministry of health, and the Department of Environmental, we will see the rabieselimination in humans.
