چکیده مقاله:

Backgrounds: Colorectal cancer is the ۲nd leading cause of death because of cancer. Longnoncoding RNAs (LncRNAs) involve in the tumor formation, angiogenesis, proliferation, migration, apoptosis and differentiation. Based on recent bioinformatics studies, lincTNS۱ maybe involved in the progression and metastasis of colorectal cancer. LincTNS۱ is involved inregulating the expression of CAT and GSR genes which associate with cell antioxidant potential. As a result, the aim of this study was investigation of LincTNS۱ expression in CRC tissuesamples and evaluation of its potential as diagnostic biomarker in this cancer for first time.Materials and Methods: The colorectal tumor samples and adjacent normal tissue samples werecollected from thirty patients. After total RNA extraction from samples and cDNA synthesis,Real-time PCR was used to measure the LincTNS۱ expression. Paired t-test was used forcomparison of LincTNS۱ expression in tumor and normal samples and receiver operating curve(ROC) was used to assess the diagnostic value of TNS۱.Results: The qPCR results showed that the expression of LincTNS۱ was down-regulated ۲/۹۷times in thirty paired colorectal cancer specimens (p < ۰.۰۳۲۲). The AUC of ROC curve was۰.۷۰۵۶ and revealed that the expression level of LincTNS۱ can detect up to ۷۰.۵۶ % of cases ofcolorectal cancer and can be used as a diagnostic biomarker. Conclusion: Finally, the authors suggest that the considerably down-regulation of LincTNS۱ inCRC tumor samples and its potential as biomarker highlight the need to further investigation ofthis LncRNA in larger population and cohort studies.
