چکیده مقاله:

Backgrounds: The KLK۲ gene encodes a member of the grandular kallikrein protein family.Kallikreins are a subgroup of serine proteases that are clustered on chromosome ۱۹. The proteinencoded by this gene is a highly active trypsin-like serine protease that selectively cleaves atarginine resides. This protein is primarily expressed in prostatic tissue and is responsible forcleaving pro-prostate-specific antigen into its enzymatically active form. The KLK۲ gene ishighly expressed in prostate tumor cells.Materials and Methods: The GEPIA۲ database was used to explain the gene and geneexpression in normal and tumor tissues. Since KLK۲ gene is one of the CCDS sets, the NCBI sitehelped to identify members of the CCDS suite. The interactions between proteins were studiedthrough STRING database. Ensemble and GeneCards databases were also used for genomicsequence information and their interpretation. Results: The results we obtained include the following: The KlK۲ gene is highly expressed inprostate tumor cells. This gene is located on chromosome ۱۹ and is responsible for proteasecleavage. Bonding results in both coding and non-coding transcripts. Conclusion: KLK۲ gene expression is higher in people with prostate cancer than in healthy ones.According to the results, it can be stated that KLK۲ gene can be considered as an effective andinvolved factor in prostate cancer. The upregulation in this gene is associated with theprogression and development of the disease.
