چکیده مقاله:

Background: Pinkbar (planar intestinal- and kidney-specific BAR domain protein)/BAIAP۲L۲is a member of inverse BAR (I-BAR) domain protein subfamily that contains an I-BAR domainand a SH۳ domain. The members of this subfamily have participated in the cell motility and cellshape changes by regulation of actin filaments and formation of plasma membrane protrusion. Moreover, colon cancer is one the most causes of death worldwide. To identify the novel andmore effective platform with low side effects in cancer therapy was remained unknown. Therefore, the identification of new biomarkers in treatment of cancer seems to be interested forresearchers.Materials and Methods: In order to evaluate the expression of a possible new target in coloncancer therapy, a total of ۳۰ tissue samples from ۳۰ colon cancer patients and ۳۰ healthy controlswas collected. Next, the total RNA was extracted by using Trizol reagent based on themanufacturer-provided protocol followed by reverse transcription into cDNA. Finally, weevaluated the expression of Pinkbar by using quantitative real time PCR (qRT-PCR) method. Results: Our finding indicates that the expression of Pinkbar was elevated in samples of patientswith colon cancer. So, it seems that Pinkbar may be a potential target in colon cancer therapy. However, to identify the details of the molecular mechanisms, more experiments will berequired. Conclusion: The results from our study support this idea that Pinkbar may to be a novel target incolon cancer therapy.
