Evaluation of high cholesterol rs۲۹۶۷۶۰۵ and rs۶۷۵۶۶۲۹ polymorphisms of RAB۱۱B and ABCG۵ and ABCG۸ genes in Isfahan population

Backgrounds: High cholesterol, also known as hypercholesterolemia, is a major risk factor forheart disease and stroke. The aim of this study was to investigate the possible associationbetween rs۶۷۵۶۶۲۹ and rs۲۹۶۷۶۰۵ polymorphism in high cholesterol in a population of patientsin Isfahan.Materials and Methods: For this study, blood samples were obtained from ۴۰ patients withhigh cholesterol and ۴۰ blood samples from healthy individuals. Then, by tetra ARMS-PCRmethod, genotyping was performed using the obtained DNA sample.Results: After statistical analysis of the relationship between mutant A allele and the risk of highcholesterol, it was concluded that there was a significant relationship between A allele andpatients in rs۲۹۶۷۶۰۵. Also the relationship between minor G allele and the risk of highcholesterol, it was concluded that there was a significant relationship between G allele andpatients in rs۶۷۵۶۶۲۹.Conclusion: Results predict that the presence of the SNP allele in the ABCG۵ and RAB۱۱B geneincreases the risk of high cholesterol and can be used as a prognostic factor for high cholesterol.
