Backgrounds: Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin. This vitamin acts as an antioxidant in the bodyand protects the body's cells against destruction, meaning that this vitamin has a great ability toneutralize free radicals that are naturally produced inside the body's cells. The aim of this studywas to evaluate the effect of vitamin E on breast cancer cell line.Materials and Methods: Breast cell line was treated with different concentrations of vitamin E.The effect of vitamin E on cell mortality was measured by MTT method. In this test, cells werecounted with trypan blue and ۱۰,۰۰۰ cells were cultured in ۹۶-well plates and the cells weretreated for ۴۸ hours.Results: The results of MTT test showed cancer cell mortality at different concentrations oftreatment, which increased mortality and decreased survival with increasing concentration ofvitamin E treatment (p <۰.۰۵). IC۵۰ for breast cancer ۴۵ μg / ml was calculated.Conclusion: Evaluation of changes in breast cancer cell life due to vitamin E treatment wasevaluated using MTT test. The results of the treated cells were analyzed by ELISA reader afterreading and the graph was plotted as the percentage of mortality versus concentration. Theresults showed that ۴۸-hour treatment had a greater effect on cancer cell mortality.
