Association of Serum Anti-Heat Shock Protein ۲۷ Antibody with Obesity Risk among Healthy Individuals in MASHAD Study

چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: The association between the serum antibody titer of several heat shock proteins (HSPs) and cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors so far has been the subject of several previous studies.Aim: To evaluate the association of adiposity indices and HSP-۲۷ antibody titers in healthy individuals.Materials and Methods: Overall ۴۸۲۳ individuals were recruited from Mashhad Stroke and Heart Atherosclerotic Disorders Study (MASHAD study), that included ۱۴۹۶ individuals with normal-weight (body mass index (BMI) <۲۵ kg/m۲), ۱۹۷۵ individuals with over-weight (BMI ۲۵-۳۰ kg/m۲), and ۱۳۵۲ individuals with obesity (BMI≥ ۳۰ kg/m۲).Results: The serum anti-HSP-۲۷ antibody titers were not significantly different among obese individuals [۰.۲۱ (۰.۱۱ – ۰.۳۴) absorbency unit (AU)], over-weight individuals [۰.۱۹ (۰.۱۰ – ۰.۳۳) AU] and normal-weight individuals [۰.۱۹ (۰.۱۰ – ۰.۳۳) AU].Conclusions: we have found no significant relationship among anti-HSP-۲۷ antibody concentration and degrees of adiposity among Iranian adults.
