چکیده مقاله:

In knowledge age, corporations recognize that in order to be successful, they need to understand modern project management techniques. Increasing environmental pressures and uncertainty, shrinking time frames for IT projects, decreasing time to market for project results and high quality requirements make effective and efficient management of IT projects a critical success factor of many companies. Knowledge and experiences from IT projects are an important resource for following projects. Knowledge is one of the critical assets to leverage when pursuing enterprise competitive advantage. But identification of critical knowledge and the ability to utilize it is a challenge for any project management. Successful IT project management is based, on the one hand on accumulated knowledge, and on the other hand, on individual and collective competences The term knowledge management is widespread and frequently used. Knowledge management (KM) is crucial to the adaptation and survival of organizations in the face of continuous environmental changes. Many see KM as the next source of competitive advantage. Moreover, the rapid growth of the Internet infrastructure and information technology (IT) has increased the effectiveness of KM in many business domains. So in keeping with this synergy between managing IT projects and managing knowledge, a number of major organizations have recognized the power of working together to improve their project management practices and performance. This paper attempts to explain the roles of the knowledge management in projects, especially as applied to the area of IT projects.
