SECURITY THREATS FACING E-COMMERCE IN THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AGE

The popularization of the internet and information technology has made many businesses respond to human needs online. Organizations and businesses that have started using e-commerce and offering their products and services to users online can compete with other markets at the domestic and global levels. Since the use of online services has become common, security has become one of the main concerns of e-commerce. Maintaining security, privacy, and a secure website structure is essential in gaining the users' trust and developing e-commerce. Today, e-commerce is not an option for every organization and business. E-commerce is necessary to compete with other organizations and businesses to achieve commercial success. In the internet environment, due to the anonymity of users, some cyber criminals endanger users’ privacy in different ways and with various goals. Information technology, e-commerce, and its branches are based on the internet environment. Since e-commerce has brought many benefits to organizations and government services, it has security risks that always put business owners and users at risk. According to previous research, this study examines the security threats that threaten e-commerce owners and users. Understanding the security risks in the internet and e-commerce environment makes e-commerce owners and their customers more alert to the use of e-commerce.
