چکیده مقاله:

Suicide is the act of intentionally killing onself, which is one of the leading causes of deaths worldwide. Statistics from the World Health Organization show that one million people worldwide die of suicide each year, and ۱۰ to ۲۰ times as many people commit suicide. Therefore, suicide is a very important issue to be considered for research, mainly understanding the risk factors and protective factors in the occurrence of suicide, which can determine the relationship between the factors and the degree of intervention of each factor. However, physicians' knowledge in predicting and preventing suicide is currently weak. In this research, we look at this problem from a different prespective and examine it using a network analysis approach. We study the relationship between different risk and protective factors and their impact on each other, and find factors that have the greatest impact on encouraging or preventing suicidal tendencies. The method of extracting protection and the risk factors are extracted using the Beck Scale for Suicidal Ideation (BSSI) Questionnaire and the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scales (DASS) Questionnaire. The test society was ۱۱- to ۱۸-year-old female adolescents living in Tehran, Iran. In this study, we used the Pearson correlation coefficient and linear regression to analyze the relationship between different factors and formed a network graph. Then, the different centrality criteria were measured in the weighted graph and the various risk and protective factors were compared to find the most significant ones. The results show that DASS-Depression, DASS-Stress, Suicide readiness and Desire, are key factors (nodes in the graph) in terms of degree, proximity and eigenvector centrality criteria in weighted graphs, in intensifying suicide. On the other hand, the node corresponding to interest in life, is notable in terms of the betweenness centrality. These results are consistent with the expected results and other findings in the literature, which shows the power of network analysis.
