چکیده مقاله:
Osteoarthritis is the most common form of joint disease in adults in the world.Osteoarthritis is a chronic and progressive disease that causes the destructionof cartilage and joints, which is associated with pain and the inability tofunction. Intra-articular injection of ozone and hyaluronic acid is a usefulmethod for treating patients with osteoarthritis of the knee. In this study, theeffect of ozone and hyaluronic acid injections in patients with kneeosteoarthritis was investigated. In this study, ۳۰ patients with osteoarthritis ofthe knee were evaluated based on KOOS, ICOAP, and TUG tests. Then theamount of pain before injection, one month after the first injection, and onemonth after the second injection inpatients were compared. The mean ofKOOS, ICOAP, and TUG tests was significantly better than one month beforethe first injection and one month after the second injection, and one monthafter the first injection. Ozone injection with the help of three therapeuticmechanisms cures joint diseases, and since ozone is an unstable substance andis converted to oxygen at a high rate during the conversion process, it makes itpossible for any oxygen molecule to Can oxidize tissues. Due to its structure, ozone can also perform the oxidation process and immediately provide therequired oxygen to the tissues, as well as stimulate the growth of tissues andtheir regeneration and rehabilitation. The hyaluronic acid injection is alsoknown as gel injection. During treatment, a substance called hyaluronic acid isinjected directly into the knee joint to increase the amount of this acid that isnaturally present in the body. In motor joints, this fluid acts as a lubricant orshock absorber and also helps the joints to function properly. These resultsindicate that intra-articular injection of ozone gas and hyaluronic acid canimprove pain, stiffness, and quality of life in patients with osteoarthritis of theknee.
